LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Four University of Louisville athletic teams are among the nation's leaders within their sport in the most recent multiyear Academic Progress Rate (APR) data released by the NCAA.

UofL's men's basketball, women's lacrosse and men's and women's golf teams are among the top 10 percent in their respective sports in the latest APR, which measures academic eligibility, retention and graduation for student-athletes.  All four sports programs have a perfect 1000 score for the most recent four-year period from 2011-15.

This is the fourth consecutive year that the Cardinals' men's basketball team has received an APR Public Recognition Award.  Over the four-year period of this multiyear APR report from 2011-15, Louisville's academic success has come while the men's basketball team won a combined 123 games, the second-most in the nation over that period behind.  The Cardinals won the 2013 NCAA Championship, reached the 2012 Final Four, the NCAA Sweet 16 all four years, three Elite Eights, won three conference tournament championships and claimed two league regular season titles during that stretch.

The men's basketball team produced a collective 3.26 grade point average for 2014-15, just below its record 3.40 GPA from the previous season.  UofL had a collective 3.36 GPA for the most recent 2015 fall semester and 13 of 15 Cardinals earned a 3.0 or better. The men's basketball team has been around a collective 3.0 GPA for 15 consecutive semesters.  Louisville placed a league-high seven individuals on the 2016 ACC All-Academic Team for the second straight year.

Last August, the men's golf team received all-academic team honors by the Golf Coaches Association of American (GCAA). The Cardinals were one of 90 Division I men's golf program recognized for their work away from the course.  Louisville was one of five ACC programs to earn the distinction.  Three University of Louisville men's golfers were named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars last season. Antoine LeSaux, and Robin Sciot-Siegrist and Gus Lundquist were honored for their work on the golf course and in the classroom last season.

The women's golf team achieved the highest grade-point average of all athletics teams in the most recent 2015 fall semester with a 3.524 GPA. The Cardinals boasted nine Red & Black Scholars that included three Dean's Scholars (4.0 GPA), and it was announced in the spring that seniors Laura Restrepo and Katie Mitchell earned ACC postgraduate scholarships.

Louisville women's lacrosse team has been recognized for five consecutive years by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association as an IWLCA Division I Academic Squad, which highlights teams with a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.  Louisville's Cortnee Daley and Hannah Koloski were named to the All-ACC Academic Women's Lacrosse Team in 2015 and Cat Gordon was named to the IWL Association's Academic Honor Roll (3.5 GPA).

APR figures for the  most-recent single-year totals from 2014-15 for all Division I sports teams will be released on April 20.
