LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville women's basketball travels to play Boston College (5-7, 1-7) on Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET. The game will broadcast on the ACC Network and 790-AM WKRD.
 
The Cardinals (16-1, 9-1) are coming off their first setback of the season, a 74-60 defeat to No. 4 NC State on Monday.
 
Dana Evans led the way on Monday, tying a career high with 29 points on 10-22 shooting, 5-8 from 3-point range. She leads the ACC with 20.1 points per game and ranks sixth with 4.2 assists per game. She leads the ACC and ranks sixth in the country with a 94.0 free throw percentage and ranks third in the league with 42 3-point makes.

In the last five games, she has played 193 of 200 minutes, including all 40 minutes vs. Syracuse, at Wake Forest and vs. NC State, and is averaging 21.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists. She is shooting 15-37 (.405) from 3-point range in last five and is 19-19 from the free throw line. She has made 37 consecutive free throws and hasn't missed since Dec. 6 vs. UT Martin.

The All-American has scored in double figures in every game this season and 34 straight games overall.
 
After shooting 7-38 (.184) from 3-point range in the first two games in January, the Cards are 95-229 (.415) from deep in their last 10 games. They are 69-164 (.421) in the last seven games. UofL is shooting 36.8 percent from beyond the arc on the season, which ranks fourth in the ACC. The Cards have 138 3-point makes, which rank second in the ACC and 10th in the country. Their 375 attempts rank second in the league. In ACC play, they are shooting a league-leading 40.6 percent and their 89 makes rank second to Virginia Tech's 107.
 
UofL leads the ACC and ranks 12th in the country with a 79.1 free throw shooting percentage. In ACC play, they are shooting a league-leading 85.5 percent (94-110). The top five leading scorers are all shooting above 77.0 percent from the stripe and combined they are shooting 84.8 percent.
 
Just once in the last four years has Louisville lost back-to-back games. That was last season when they lost 67-59 vs. No. 17 Florida State on Feb. 6, 2020 and 59-51 at Syracuse on Feb. 9, 2020. Prior to last season, UofL had not lost back-to-back games since February of 2017.
 
ABOUT THE EAGLES
 
Thursday marks the first game for Boston College since an 83-73 road loss at Notre Dame on Jan.17. The Eagles' last four games were postponed due to covid protocols. Boston College is 5-7 overall, 1-7 in conference play. The matchup will be the first home game for the Eagles in almost a month, since the Eagles hosted the Irish on Jan.7 (W, 64-61). All of BC's wins have come inside Conte Forum as Boston College is 5-2 in Chestnut Hill. The Eagles rank 11th in the conference in points per game with a 69.6 average and 12th allowing 69.3 points per game. Taylor Soule leads the team with 15.3 points per game, which ranks seventh in the ACC. Strong on the defensive end, Boston College ranks first in opponent turnovers per game with 19.6, steals per game with 9.83, and turnover margin at +3.25. Marnelle Garraud is the ACC's leader with 31 total steals, good for 2.6 per game. 
 
Series History - Louisville is 9-1 all-time against Boston College. The Cardinals are on a nine-game winning streak in the series, 8-0 since joining the ACC, and are looking for their fourth win in Chestnut Hill. The lone loss to the Boston College came in the first meeting on Dec. 28, 1985, when Louisville suffered a 68-74 loss in the NC State Christmas Tournament. In the last nine games, the Cardinals have won by an average of 20.8 points per game. Thursday's meeting marks the sixth straight time that the teams have faced off when Louisville was ranked in the top five. 
 
The Last Meeting (Jan. 14, 2021) -  All five starters scored in double figures as Louisville defeated Boston College 89-70 inside the KFC Yum! Center. The Cardinals led for 39 out of 40 minutes, using a 14-6 run in the fourth quarter to close the door on a late Boston College push. Dana Evans led all scorers with 24 points. The freshman duo of Hailey Van Lith and Olivia Cochran combined for 31 points and 12 rebounds. The Cardinals shot 56.7 percent from the field.
