Women’s Basketball Excels in the Classroom

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – While the University of Louisville women's basketball team has opened the season with a 5-0 record and moved up to No. 2 in the Associated Press poll, grade point averages from the 2020 UofL fall semester reflect that the Cardinals have excelled in the classroom, as well.

The Cardinals achieved a collective 3.094 grade-point average for the 2020 fall semester. This marks the 13th straight semester that women's basketball has earned better than a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

In addition, seven student-athletes earned a 3.0 or better GPA, while eight earned Red & Black Scholar Athlete status for a 3.25 or better cumulative GPA.
 
Hailey Van Lith earned Dean's Scholar with a 4.0 semester GPA, while Elizabeth Dixon, Merissah Russell and Kianna Smith were named to the Dean's List, earning above a 3.5 GPA.

Dana Evans, Ahlana Smith and Kianna Smith all qualify as members of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society, which recognizes junior and senior student-athletes with a cumulative GPA above 3.4.
