Jayden Ulrich Tabbed USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week

April 14, 2025 | Track & Field

The senior becomes the first in program history to win the honor after posting the second-best mark in collegiate history in the women’s discus last weekend at the Oklahoma Throws Series World Invitational.

NEW ORLEANS, La. – University of Louisville track & field senior Jayden Ulrich has been named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division I Women's National Athlete of the Week, as announced by the organization on Monday.

With the honor, Ulrich becomes the first athlete in program history to be recognized as USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week during the outdoor track & field season.

The senior continued to stake her claim as one of the best young throwers in the world on Saturday at the Oklahoma Throws Series World Invitational, where she finished third in the women's discus throw with an otherworldly mark of 69.39m (227-8).

The toss moved Ulrich up to second in the event in NCAA history and third in United States history, while also currently ranking as the third-best throw in the world during the 2025 outdoor season.

Additionally, the mark obliterated the previous Louisville program record and ACC conference record of 66.14m (217-0) that Ulrich set in her first outdoor meet of the season at the USF Alumni Invitational in March.
