Detmers Garners D1Baseball All-America Honor

The sophomore picked up his fourth All-America honor of the season.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville sophomore Reid Detmers secured another All-America honor as D1Baseball released its All-America teams on Thursday.
 
Detmers was one of five starting pitchers named to the first team. The left-hander has now been recognized by four organizations, with D1Baseball joining Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, the NCBWA and Perfect Game.
 
The 2019 ACC Pitcher of the Year, Detmers has been one of the top pitchers in the country this season. The Chatham, Illinois, native is 12-4 overall and tied for the national lead in wins. Detmers set Louisville's single-season strikeout record during the NCAA Regional and enters the College World Series second in the country in wit 162 strikeouts.
 
Detmers owns nine starts with double digit strikeouts this season, including seven no-hit innings in consecutive starts against Brown and James Madison. Behind a dominant start to the season, the southpaw was named the D1Baseball Midseason Top Pitcher and Perfect Game Midseason National Pitcher of the Year.
 
Louisville (49-16) continues its postseason run on Sunday at the 2019 NCAA College World Series. The Cardinals will take on Vanderbilt with first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. CT on ESPN.
