April 26, 2021 | Women's Lacrosse

The Cardinals and Tar Heels meet on Wednesday at 12 p.m. ET on the ACC Network.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - No. 19 University of Louisville women's lacrosse opens the 2021 Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament against No. 1 North Carolina on Wednesday at 12 p.m. ET in Chapel Hill, N.C. The game will broadcast live on the ACC Network.

The Cardinals are 5-10 overall and 1-9 in conference play. The Tar Heels enter Wednesday's game at 15-0 on the year and 9-0 in the league.

Louisville ended the regular season with a grueling stretch, facing top five teams in six of nine games and top 10 teams in seven of nine. It doesn't get any easier now as they face the nation's number one team.

It marks the second time in a row that Louisville opens the ACC Tournament against the No. 1 team in the country on their home field. In 2019, they were hosted by No. 1 Boston College.

UofL is 0-5 all-time in the ACC Tournament and this will be the first meeting against UNC in the postseason.

Ally Hall leads the team and ranks eighth in the ACC with 33 goals. Her 5.07 shots per game rank ninth in the league. She did not score in the season opener against Florida, but has a 14-game scoring streak since then. During that 14-game stretch, she has nine multi-goal games. It is the longest goal-scoring streak of her career. She previously had a 13 game streak from 2019 to 2020.

Hall has 98 career goals and is two shy of becoming just the 11th player in UofL history to reach 100 career goals.

Goalkeeper Rachel Florek has recorded 127 saves this season, which ranks first in the ACC and 13th in the NCAA. It also marks the fifth most in UofL single season history. Her 8.46 saves per game rank second in the league, while her .414 save percentage ranks sixth.

Her 335 saves are the most in UofL history, while her .427 career save percentage ranks third all-time in UofL history.
