LOUISVILLE, Ky. – No. 3 University of Louisville women's basketball hits the road to play at No. 23 North Carolina on Thursday night. The game will tip off at 6 p.m. ET and broadcast on RSN and 790-AM WKRD.
 
Louisville is 22-2 on the season and 13-1 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. They are on a seven-game winning streak, which is the longest streak in the ACC.
 
With the 73-47 win over No. 18 Notre Dame on Sunday, the Cardinals improved their record to 6-2 against Top 25 teams. Over the past five seasons, the Cardinals are 29-14 against AP Top 25 teams.
 
During UofL's seven-game winning streak, they are averaging 79.9 points per game, while shooting 49.0 percent from the floor and 40.1 percent from deep. They have scored 70-plus points in six of seven games and are 15-0 when scoring 70-plus points. They are 57-0 the past three seasons when scoring 70 or more.
 
In the last seven games, UofL has assisted on 140 of 217 field goals, good for 64.5 percent.  In ACC play, UofL has assisted on 230 of 379 field goals, good for 60.7 percent. The Cardinals had a season-high 25 assists in the win at Clemson. UofL assisted on 23 of 28 buckets in the win at Miami, good for 82.1 percent, which marked a season high. The Cardinals are averaging 17.7 assists per game in ACC play, which leads the league. Five players are averaging at least 2.2 assists per game - K. Smith (2.9), Robinson (2.5), Engstler (2.3), Hall (2.3) and Van Lith (2.2).
 
Over the past five seasons, the Cardinals are 79-11 (.878) in ACC regular season and tournament games combined. UofL is 71-8 (.899) in ACC regular season games. They are 37-4 (.902) in home games and 34-4 (.895) in road games.
 
Nine different players scored in the win against Notre Dame on Sunday, with Kianna Smith leading the way with 17 points. Smith ranks second on the team with 12.0 points per game and eight times this season has led the team in scoring. She ranks second in the ACC with a 41.0 3-point field goal percentage and ranks eighth with 2.0 made 3-pointers per game.
 
Chelsie Hall also helped lead the balanced attack against the Fighting Irish as she finished with 13 points on 5-7 shooting, 1-1 from deep, while adding five rebounds and three assists
 
Seven different players (K. Smith - 8, Van Lith - 8, Engstler - 7, Dixon - 3, Hall - 1, A. Smith -1, Cochran - 1) have led the Cards in scoring this season.

ABOUT THE TAR HEELS
 
North Carolina enters Thursday's matchup with a 19-5 overall record, 9-5 in ACC play. The Tar Heels won their first 13 games and are 6-5 in their last 11. They are 11-1 at Carmichael Arena with their lone defeat, a 66-58 loss to NC State. UNC ranks second in the ACC with 74.3 points per game, while giving up 54.2 points per game, which ranks third. The Tar Heels lead the ACC and rank third in the country with a plus-20.2 scoring margin. They lead the league and rank fourth in the country with a 33.9 field goal percentage defense. They also lead the league in free throw attempts (483), free throw makes (343) and turnover margin (+6.0). The Tar Heels feature four double-digit scorers led by Deja Kelly's 15.9 points per game, which ranks fourth in the ACC. Alyssa Ustby (13.1 ppg), Eva Hodgson (10.1 ppg) and Kennedy Todd-Williams (10.0 ppg) also average double figures. Kelly leads the ACC with a 86.7 free throw percentage and ranks second with 91 made free throws. Ustby leads the ACC with 11 double-doubles, ranks third with 8.7 rebounds per game, and ranks sixth with 1.8 steals per game and a 45.7 field goal percentage. 
 
Series History - Louisville is 8-3 all-time against UNC and they have won eight straight games. All eight wins have taken place since the Cards joined the ACC. They are 3-0 in Chapel Hill.
 
Last Meeting (Jan. 28, 2021) - Olivia Cochran scored 14 of her 17 points in the first half to lead top-ranked Louisville, which withstood a late rally to beat North Carolina 79-68. The Cardinals made eight of their first 10 shots to take a 21-9 lead in less than six minutes and built a 67-35 lead late in the third quarter. But the Tar Heels made things interesting with a 17-0 second-half run. They got it down to an eight-point deficit with 1:18 left, but they could not get any closer.
