January 31, 2023 | Track & Field

GREENSBORO, N.C. – University of Louisville women's track and field athlete Synclair Savage has been named the ACC Women's Field Performer of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday.

The junior from Kennesaw, Ga. broke the Louisville school record in the women's long jump for the second consecutive meet, leaping 6.52m (21-4.75) to take first place at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational. The mark currently stands fifth nationally and bested the previous record of 6.44m (21-1.5) that she set two weeks ago at the Cardinal Classic.

Savage, the 2022 ACC outdoor champion in the women's long jump, then followed up the record-breaking performance with a runner-up finish in the 60m dash, running a personal-best time of 7.41.

The Cardinals return to competition with Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Ind. on Feb. 3-4.
