Kouijzer, Plumb, Kaczmarczyk Earn NFHCA All-West Region Honors

Cards place three on NFHCA All-West Region Teams

Three University of Louisville field hockey players earned the National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-West Region honors as announced by the organization today.  Julie Kouijzer and Aimee Plumb were selected to the first team while Emilia Kaczmarczyk was named to the second team.
 
Kouijzer takes home her third straight NFHCA All-West Region honor. The senior defender from Amsterdam, The Netherlands tallied a career-best six goals while helping the Cardinals defense produce five shutouts on the season. She was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 6 and was selected to the NFHCA Senior Team. The team co-captain and four-year starter was also a 2021 NFHCA third team All-American and two-time All-ACC selection.
 
Plumb earns her second consecutive All-West Region nod after leading the Cardinals in scoring with a career-best eight goals, seven assists and 23 points. Five of Plumb's eight goals have stood as game winners, ranking third in the ACC in that category.  The junior forward from Canterbury, Kent, England, is also a two-time All-ACC selection. She was an NFHCA All-America third team honoree in 2021 and was a named to the 2022 NFHCA Preseason Watch List.
 
Kaczmarczyk picks up her first career NFHCA All-West Region honor after starting every game and directed the midfield for the nationally-ranked Cardinals. The senior from Melton Mowbray, England scored in the 4-1 win at Penn and delivered a shootout goal to lift Louisville to a win against No. 24 Duke. The four-year starter has registered five goals and six assists throughout her career.
