Cardinals Announce 2022-23 ACC Schedule

September 14, 2022 | Women's Basketball

Louisville’s full 2022-23 schedule is set with the release of the ACC schedule on Wednesday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville women's basketball schedule is now complete as the ACC announced the 18-game conference slate Wednesday morning. Official tip times and TV designations will be released at a later date.

The Cardinals are set for nine conference home games as part of the ACC slate. The four conference opponents they will face at home and on the road this season include Notre Dame, Pitt, Syracuse and Boston College.

Louisville will open conference play on the road when they travel to Pitt on Sunday, December 18. The ACC opener is part of a four-game stretch where the Cardinals will be away from home in December.

The ACC home opener will be right before the new year as the Cardinals host Syracuse on Thursday, December 29. It will be the first home game for the Cardinals in over three weeks when they take on the Orange.

Back on the road the Cards go as they begin the new year in Durham. Louisville will face off with Duke on New Years Day before coming back home for a two-game swing.

The Cards are back at home Thursday, January 5, when they host Georgia Tech. The game against the Yellow Jackets will be the first of eight conference games the Cardinals have against teams that made the NCAA Tournament last season. The quick, two-game homestand will conclude on Sunday, January 8, as the Cardinals play their second game of the season against Pitt.

A two-game road trip awaits the Cardinals as they head to Virginia Tech on Thursday, January 12 and then Florida State on Sunday, January 15. Both the Hokies and Seminoles reached the NCAA Tournament last season.

Another home weekend at the KFC Yum! Center is on deck as the Cardinals host Boston College on Thursday, January 19 and NC State on Sunday, January 22. The Wolfpack joined the Irish as No. 1 seeds in the NCAA Tournament last season before they fell in the Elite Eight.

The Cards hit the road again for a two-game road swing against Wake Forest on Thursday, January 26, and Syracuse on Sunday, January 29.

Louisville returns home for a big weekend matchup against North Carolina on Sunday, February 5. The Tar Heels were one of four ACC teams to advance to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament last season.

The following week, the Cardinals alternate with road and home games as they travel to face Virginia on Thursday, February 9 and will be back at home against Clemson on Sunday, February 12.

The final road trip of the regular season sends the Cardinals to face Notre Dame on Thursday, February 16 and then to Boston College on Sunday, February 19. The Irish were another ACC team that reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament last season.

The Cardinals return home for the final time in the regular season as they close out the year with Miami on Thursday, February 23 and Notre Dame on Sunday, February 26. The Hurricanes advanced to the second round in last season's NCAA Tournament.

The ACC Women's Basketball Tournament will be held March 1-5 at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C.

Last season, the Cardinals earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament for the third time in the last four seasons and advanced to the program's fourth Final Four after the Elite Eight win over Michigan. The Cardinals are one of just two teams to make the Elite Eight or further in each of the last four seasons.

The Cardinals went 16-2 in league play a season ago and own a 114-18 record in their eight seasons of ACC league play.

The ACC saw eight teams earn a spot in the NCAA Women's Basketball Championship in 2021-22, tied for the most bids by any conference.
