Emily Engstler is one of 20 players named to the Midseason Team for the 2022 Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy for Women’s Player of the Year.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — It was announced today that University of Louisville women's basketball senior forward Emily Engstler is one of 20 players named to the Midseason Team for the 2022 Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy for Women's Player of the Year.
The New York, N.Y. native was also named to the 2022 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Watch List and listed at No. 25 in ESPN's Top 25 Players, version 2.0.
Engstler averages 11.0 points with a team-high 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.7 blocks per game, while shooting 47 percent overall and 25-of-57 (.439) from deep. She leads the ACC with 2.5 steals per game, ranks third with 8.5 rebounds per game, ranks fourth with 5.7 defensive rebounds per game and ranks fifth with 1.7 blocks per game.
She has led Louisville in rebounds in 20 of 23 games and has a team-high seven double-doubles on the year.
