Ferguson-Dayes Inducted into Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville women's soccer head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes was inducted into the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2021 on Wednesday.
 
The Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1990 and honors outstanding people who have gained prominence and made substantial contributions on behalf of themselves and Suffolk County, in the fields of professional and amateur sports.

A native of Holbrook, N.Y., and a graduate of Sachem High School, Ferguson-Dayes was an inaugural inductee of the Sachem Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003.

She was a three-time All-American at UConn and played for the U.S. Women's National Team.

Ferguson-Dayes was an assistant at Boston University and UConn prior to taking over as the head coach at Louisville in 2000.

She has won over 180 games at Louisville and is the winningest coach in program history. Six times she has led the Cardinals to the NCAA Tournament. In 2011, she was named Big East Coach of the Year.
