LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville women's lacrosse head coach Scott Teeter will return as head coach of the Canadian Lacrosse National Team that will compete in the 2022 World Lacrosse Women's World Championship.

In 2017, Teeter led Canada to silver medals in the FIL World Cup, held in England, and the World Games held in Poland.

"Scott Teeter will once again bring a wealth of coaching talent and personal character to our Women's national team. Scott has been one of the elite coaches in both the NCAA and International Lacrosse for many years, and we look forward to seeing him lead Canada's women's team through to the World Championships in 2022," said Jason Donville, Director of High Performance and International Relations for Lacrosse Canada.

The World Lacrosse Women's Championship is the major international championship for women's lacrosse, featuring 30 countries represented by the top female players in the world. The event will be held at Towson University June 29 through July 9.

Teeter will also serve as head coach of the Canadian National Team at the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, Ala., which will take place July 12-16. The World Games will feature six versus six lacrosse, which is played by two teams of six players on a field 70 meters long by 36 meters wide.

Sixes is a faster paced, condensed version of the sport played on a smaller field with fewer players and shortened game time (four 8-minute quarters) and shot clock (30 seconds).

In preparation for the World Championship, Teeter will coach Team Canada's women's Fall Classic and Sixes teams, with both events taking place this October at Towson University. The Fall Classic will take place from Oct. 15-17 and the Sixes competition is slated for Oct. 22-24.
