Louisville Welcomes Michigan to Lynn Stadium on Friday

The Cardinals and Wolverines will kick off at 5 p.m. ET on Friday.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville women's soccer welcomes No. 16 Michigan to Lynn Stadium on Friday at 5 p.m. ET. The match will broadcast on ACC Network Extra.
 
Louisville enters Thursday's match with a 4-1 record, coming off its first loss of the season, while Michigan is 5-1 on the year.
 
Despite falling 1-0 last Sunday against Western Kentucky, the Cardinals have allowed just one goal in its last three matches. Goalkeeper Gabby Kouzelos recorded shutouts in wins over Northern Kentucky and Saint Louis, the 27th and 28th of her career, which is a program-record.
 
Offensively, Louisville has outscored its opponent 14-6 and has out-assisted them 11-3. UofL has outshot its opponent 85-46 on the year and has outshot its opponent in three of five matches.
 
Despite scoring just one goal in the last two matches, the Cards average 2.8 goals per game, which ranks seventh in the ACC and 31st in the NCAA.

ABOUT THE WOLVERINES

Michigan enters Friday's contest ranked No. 16 in the country with a 5-1 record, its lone loss a 1-0 overtime defeat to Southern California. They are 1-0 away for U-M Soccer Stadium, winning 5-0 at Butler on August 19. Fifth year midfielder Nicki Hernandez leads the Wolverines with four goals, recording at least one goal in four of six matches. Michigan was picked to finish fourth in the Big Ten with seniors Meredith Haakenson and Raleigh Loughman, along with sophomore Sammi Woods being named Big Ten Players to Watch.

Series History: Louisville is 1-0-0 all-time against Michigan with the lone matchup a 3-1 victory for the Cardinals at U-M Soccer Stadium on Aug. 26, 2018.
