Louisville Releases 2020-21 ACC Schedule

November 11, 2020 | Women's Basketball

The Cardinals will host 10 ACC games at the KFC Yum! Center.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. –  With University of Louisville women's basketball season rapidly approaching, the way it will look became a lot clearer Wednesday as the Atlantic Coast Conference released complete league schedules.

The Cardinals will open league play on Dec. 10 when they travel to take on Duke before hosting three straight games in the KFC Yum! Center against North Carolina (Dec. 13), Florida State (Dec. 17) and Miami (Dec. 20). They will then travel back to Duke for a New Year's Eve showdown with the Blue Devils.

The three-game home stretch in December will be the longest of the season for the Cardinals, who will host games against Pittsburgh (Jan. 7), Boston College (Jan. 14), North Carolina State (Jan. 17), Syracuse (Feb. 1), Notre Dame (Feb. 7), Georgia Tech (Feb. 11) and Clemson (Feb. 21).

UofL also will have no road stretches of more than two games throughout the ACC schedule.

The Cardinals are scheduled to begin their season on Nov. 25 with a road game against Middle Tennessee, the first of five scheduled non-conference games – including a marquee matchup against national powerhouse Connecticut on Dec. 4.

Last season, the Cardinals finished 28-4 with a 16-2 conference record before the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament was canceled amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

UofL has high hopes for the season as reflected by a No. 5 ranking in the Associated Press Top 25 poll. At No. 5, UofL equals its highest ever ranking in the AP preseason poll.

The Cardinals top the list of ACC Teams in the AP Top 25 that includes No. 8 North Carolina State, No. 22 Notre Dame and No. 23 Syracuse, all of which will play in the KFC Yum! Center this season. Florida State (12), North Carolina (10), Boston College (2) and Duke (1) also received votes.
