Louisville Lacrosse Adds 13 to 2022 Class

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville women's lacrosse head coach Scott Teeter and his staff announced their 2022 class, which features 13 student-athletes.
The class includes three student-athletes from Ohio, two from New York, Florida and Pennsylvania and one from Illinois, Maryland, New Hampshire and Tennessee.
"We are very excited about our 2022 recruiting class, which is a talented class," said Teeter. "This class makes us better at every position and includes players from some of the top club teams in the nation."
Rian Adkins, Midfielder, Upper Arlington, Ohio (Upper Arlington)
In her high school career, Adkins has helped lead Upper Arlington to a combined 40-3 record, which includes a 2019 state championship. She had 14 goals and 15 assists as a freshman and then after missing her sophomore year due to covid had 41 goals, 22 assists, 46 draw controls and 15 caused turnovers as a junior. She was named 1st Team OCC and 2nd Team All Region. She also runs cross country and was a 2020 state qualifier.
Why Rian Chose UofL: "Because of the amazing opportunity to compete in the best conference in the country, the amazing people and the campus atmosphere."

Aubrey Bagenstose, Goalkeeper, New Albany, Ohio (New Albany)
Bagenstose has been the starting goalie at New Albany since her freshman campaign and helped lead the Eagles to a 19-4 record as a freshman and 20-4 as a junior. Twice, she helped lead New Albany to a Division I state runner-up finish. She had a .600 save percentage as a freshman and then a .590 save percentage with 140 saves as a junior. She's a three-time Academic All-Ohio honoree and as a junior was named All-OCC First Team and All-Region Second Team.
Why Aubrey Chose UofL: "I fell in love with UofL the minute I stepped on campus. The coaching staff is incredible and their knowledge is so inspiring. I loved the atmosphere of the team and the opportunity to compete at the highest level."
"Aubrey is a textbook-styled stopper at goalie. We've known Aubrey for a long time coming through our camps. We're excited to have her in our goaltending position. She's very studious and really works on the goaltending position. She's very technical." – Louisville head coach Scott Teeter
Cali Bishop, Midfielder, Weare, N.H. (New Hampton School)
Bishop comes to Louisville as a four-time New Hampshire First Team All-State performer. She had 112 draw controls, 68 goals and 44 assists as a freshman, breaking the school's single season record for draws in a season. After missing her sophomore year due to covid, she finished with 67 goals and 49 assists as a junior, leading all of New Hampshire in assists. She has been named Offensive Player of the Year and to the WPLL Futures New England Team. She also played high school field hockey.
Why Cali Chose UofL: "For the opportunity to play for the NBA stars, Heisman Award winners, Olympians and other Louisville greats who have come before me. The ACC is the most competitive conference in the game and I can't wait to compete."

Karli Harnischfeger, Midfielder, Penfield, N.Y. (Our Lady of Mercy)
Harnischfeger opened her high school career with 48 draw controls, 37 ground balls, 21 goals and six assists as an eighth grader en route to being named Varsity Lacrosse Rookie of the Year. She followed that with 57 draws, 38 ground balls, 31 goals and eight assists as a sophomore and was named All Greater Rochester Honorable Mention and Section V Breakout Athlete of the Year. She was named Varsity Lacrosse Section V All Independent League after both her eighth grade and freshman seasons. She has not played since her freshman season due to covid and injury.

"Karli had an injury setback in high school that she has recovered from, and we are excited to see how she develops over her senior year. Before her injury, she was one of the top players coming out of the area. Peyton Howell, Attacker, Towson, Md. (Notre Dame Prep)
Howell comes to Louisville after playing high school lacrosse at Notre Dame Prep. She has earned several high school accolades, including Under Armour All American, Under Armour All American Baltimore Championship and Under Armour 150 All-Star. She competed for M&D Black, which is considered one of the top club teams in the nation. Her father, Tony Howell, played college football at East Carolina.
Why Peyton Chose UofL: "Playing in the Atlantic Coast Conference, the most competitive league in the country. Also, UofL has big time football and an amazing coaching staff."
"Peyton is a bull in a china shop. She is a complete attacker that can feed and drive and has tremendous offensive instinct. She picks her times to attack and reads the play well. She has a really high lacrosse IQ." – Louisville head coach Scott Teeter
Sophie Macleod, Attacker, Bradenton, Fla. (IMG Academy)
Macleod played for IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., one of the most successful lacrosse programs in the country. She helped lead IMG to as high as fourth in the state of Florida and 15th nationally during her time there. She was named Star of the Sport and earned the Brine National award, and was named the player of the game following her performance against Team Ontario. She also competed in golf in high school.

Morgan McCaffery, Midfielder, Richboro, Pa., (Council Rock North)
McCaffery accrued many accolades at Council Rock North, being named SOL District 1 First Team and Courier Times Lacrosse All-Stars First Team. She recorded 26 goals during her freshman season and nearly doubled that as a junior with 46 goals. She also played soccer and track.
Why Morgan Chose UofL: "I love the campus and the team. I also love the coaching staff and the environment at the University."

Maggie McMahon, Midfielder, Albertson, N.Y. (Mineola)
McMahon began her high school career by recording a Mineola school record 102 goals as a freshman. Her 102 goals were also the most in Long Island. She added 13 assists for the Mustangs. After her tremendous freshman campaign, she was named All County. She has not played since her freshman season due to covid and injury. In addition to lacrosse, she also played soccer and basketball during her freshman season.

"Maggie is a pure sharpshooter. We will have to find ways to get her the ball so she can get her shot off. She led Long Island in scoring as a freshman, which is a feat in its own as Long Island is a very offensive minded area. Erin Nicholson, Midfielder, Brentwood, Tenn. (Brentwood)
Nicholson is a four-year varsity starter and two-time team captain at Brentwood. As a freshman, she had a team-high 37 ground balls to go along with 45 draw controls and 29 goals. In her shortened sophomore campaign, she finished with 10 goals, 10 draws and nine ground balls. Then as a junior, she led the team with 68 draws and a .740 shooting percentage, while recording 45 goals. She helped lead Brentwood to a state runner-up finish in 2018 and was named female lacrosse Tennessee Player of the Year runner-up in 2021. She earned All-State and All-Region honors in 2020 and 2021 and in 2021 was named to the All-American South Team.

Aly Prasinos, Midfielder, Cincinnati, Ohio (Ursuline Academy)
As a freshman at Ursuline Academy, Prasinos finished with 30 ground balls, four caused turnovers, three draw controls and one goal and one assist. After missing her sophomore season due to covid, she finished with 65 draw controls, 51 ground balls, 50 goals, 21 assists and 15 caused turnovers as a junior and helped lead her team to a GGCL League Championship. She was named 1st Team All GGCL, US Lacrosse All-Academic, Honorable Mention All-Region and won the OHSAA Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award. She also played field hockey at Ursuline.

Cece Reilly, Attacker, Fort Washington, Pa. (Springside Chestnut Hill Academy)
Reilly was a four-year starter and enters her senior season as team captain at Springside Chestnut Hill. She helped them reach the Inter-AC league playoffs in 2021 and earn a top 20 ranking in the 2021 Philly Lacrosse Top 25. She had 30 goals and 22 assists as a freshman and then after missing her sophomore season due to covid, had 50 goals and 33 assists as a junior. She is also the team captain on the cross country team.

Peri Riegner, Attacker, Coconut Creek, Fla. (St. Thomas Aquinas)
Rieger comes to Louisville after leading St. Thomas Aquinas to a 2021 State Championship. She recorded 24 goals and 10 assists as a freshman, 12 goals and nine assists as a sophomore and 36 goals and 19 assists as a junior. She has also been named 1st Team All District, 1st Team All County and 1st Team All Region.

I love big football schools and I'm so happy to be a part of an ACC school where there is constant competition. Marissa Zeno, Midfielder, Oswego, Ill. (Oswego East/True Illinois)
Zeno has earned several awards playing club lacrosse for True Illinois, including Under Armour All-America MidWest Highlight Team (2020), WPLL Futures National Championship Summit (2020), UA150 (2019), US Lacrosse Nationals Team Illinois (2019), True 2022 National Team (2018-2020) and National Lacrosse Classic Team Illinois (2018). She also competed in track and field.
