Engstler, Van Lith to Play with USA at FIBA 3x3 U23 Nations League

Emily Engstler and Hailey Van Lith will play with the USA 3x3 women’s team at the FIBA 3x3 U23 Nations League, which will take place Aug. 2-4 in Voiron, France.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Louisville women's basketball's Emily Engstler (New York, N.Y.) and Hailey Van Lith (Wenatchee, Wash.) will play with the USA 3x3 women's team at the FIBA 3x3 U23 Nations League, which will take place Aug. 2-4 in Voiron, France.

They will be joined by Kylee Watson (Oregon/Linwood, N.J.) and Madison Hayes (NC State/Chattanooga, Tenn.).

The USA will be competing in the Europe-America conference of the FIBA 3x3 U23 Nations League, with stop four being held on Aug. 2, stop five taking place on Aug. 3 and the sixth and final stop on Aug. 4.

Training camp will begin on July 29 in Philadelphia.

Twenty-six different national federations registered both men and women's 3x3 teams for the FIBA U23 Nations League 2021, with teams being allocated in five different conferences: Africa, Asia, Europe-America, Europe 1 and Europe 2. The U23 Nations League will help countries prepare talent for future international competition.

Van Lith has won four gold medals with USA Basketball, and Hayes and Watson each have collected one gold medal. Hayes and Van Lith teamed up to help the USA to a gold medal at the 2019 FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup, where Van Lith was named tournament MVP.

Van Lith also won 3x3 gold at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games and five-on-five gold medals with the USA at the 2019 FIBA U19 World Cup and 2018 FIBA U17 World Cup.

At the 2018 USA Basketball 3x3 U18 National Championship, Van Lith and Quest topped Watson and the BS30 team in the finals to win the tournament title.

Engstler competed with Metropath at the 2017 and 2018 USA Basketball 3x3 U18 National Championship, and she also took part in the 2018 USA U18 National Team trials.
