Dieye led the Cardinals in every offensive category for the season

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - University of Louisville senior forward Cherif Dieye has been named to the United Soccer Coaches All-South Region Second Team as announced by the USC on Monday afternoon.
 
Dieye, a native of Dakar, Senegal, earned the honor after leading the Cardinals in every offensive statistic on the season and being named to the All-ACC Second Team. He led the Cards with seven goals, including three game-winners. He dished out six assists for 17 points. He also led the team with 79 shots and 36 shots on goal.
 
UofL concluded its first season under head coach John Michael Hayden with a 10-8-2 record, which includes two NCAA victories over USF and No. 18 UC Davis. Hayden is the first Louisville head coach to lead the Cardinals to a pair of NCAA wins in their first season. The Cards qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the fourth straight year and have now made the NCAA Tournament 12 of the last 13 seasons. The Cardinals advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament for the third time in the last four years and the seventh time in the last 10 seasons.
